Big Kids

Today Jason and I had dentist appointments. This was the second one for him--last time the dentist was only able to peek into his mouth to make sure all was well. This time....the dentist EXAMINED his mouth, counted his teeth, and the hygenist was able to polish them with the little electric tool they use! I can't believe what a big kid he was.
I must admit, some bribery was involved. He really wanted to wear some of the latex gloves--which he did during the cleaning portion (he's been wearing them off and on all day-lol). And afterwards there was the reward of ice cream. Thank goodness his milk allergy has lessened to the degree that his body can handle ice cream every now and then. He REALLY enjoyed that ice cream.

Addie's big kid adventure was on Sunday after church. We came home and had hot dogs for lunch. While I was changing out of church clothes afterward, Daddy was still helping Addie eat her hot dog. When she was done she stood up in her high chair, said, "pee, pee, pee," and tried to pull her pants down. Daddy, being the Super Dad that he is, actually took her pants off, undid her onsie, and took her diaper off to sit her on the potty. (If it had been me, I would have been lazy and just put her on the potty with clothes on.) Anyway, she actually peepd in the potty!!!! I was amazed that she told us she had to go...and did! What a big girl!

Puppet

Last night Jason told me he wanted to make a puppet. As with many things, I don't have any idea how he learned that you can make puppets--maybe PBS. Anyway, we collected supplies this morning, and here is the result.

Uncle Ken and Aunt Chrisy are moving to another state :( We are happy for them, but sad that we won't have as many play dates with these cousins.

They are mellow by this point in the evening--but it was definitely a wild afternoon. Jason and his older cousin had a ball screaming and chasing each other all through out the house. And Uncle Jeff did his part in riling them up too :) My parents found such joy in having nearly all their family together that even they were able to enjoy the commotion.

Last night I started feeling a sore throat coming on--and I woke with it this morning. Jason climbed in bed with me a little before 7 am and I told him I wasn't feeling well. I asked him if he would take care of me today. He of course said yes, and then immediately leaned over to kiss me on the cheek and started patting and stroking my arm for a few minutes. It made my heart melt.

While I'm at it, another thing that makes my heart melt is holding Jason and Addie's little hands as we walk along. I love it when they reach up for my hand--even if we are just walking down the hall in our home.

First "Snow"

When I got out of bed this morning I went out in the living room to find Jason and Daddy both looking out the window at the falling snow. Jason immediately asked if he could go outside to play in it...he wanted to build a snow man. It was 6:15 am, so I told him he could in a few hours. Throughout the next two hours, he asked at least 5 more times, so I finally began bundling them up. They were SOOOO excited.

Addie wasn't interested in the snow. But she did try out a new move I've never seen her do before. Turning at her waist and swishing her arms back and forth--it was really cute to watch.

Jason was determined to throw a few snowballs at his sister. But really, they were more like "leaf and dirt balls." This one got her sqaure in the nose. Luckily, she didn't mind one bit :)

He is so crazy. He loves to shuffle his feet in the snow, always has. But there wasn't much to do it in this morning...so, he shuffled his feet in the leaves instead. LOL. Unfortunatley I missed his great "leafball" shot at Addie.

Hyper Halloween Candy

Post trick-or-treating sure was fun. I don't think they have ever been so hyper. The combination of excitement and candy made for a fun night.

They love lollipops! Addie's kept her happy for most of the evening. She was a happy-sticky mess when we got home!

Snoopy and Woodstock's Halloween

We could hardly wait to go trick-or-treating. We went with Mommy and Daddy to vote early, and got home a little late. Mom let us eat candy while we waited for our pizza to cook. Wow, candy before dinner...Halloween is awesome! Hugs :)
